Lew Meixler is presently Head of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) Office of Technology Transfer. In this position he is responsible for establishing sponsored research, licensing, CRADAs and other collaborations between industry and PPPL. This position also involves working with the Department of Energy, and the Princeton University Office of Research and Project Administration. Lew also serves as Chairman of the PPPL Patent Committee and is presently iinvolved in a research experiment on the use of Plasma for Sterilization.Lew's technical background includes electronic design for the Plasma Physics Laboratory, and previously for RCA(GE)-Astro where he designed electronics for spacecraft and ground stations. Lew has taught Electrical Engineering as an adjunct faculty member at The College of New Jersey, Mercer County Community College, and Middlesex County Community College. Lew has an M.S.E.E. from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Engineering (EE) from CCNY . He is a registered Patent Agent, and a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey.
Lew has been an active member of the FLC Northeast Region since 1993. He received the Northeast Regional Coordinator's Excellence Award in 1995, and the FLC Representative of the Year award in 1996. On the national level, Lew has served as a Member at Large of the FLC Executive Board for three years, and presently chairs the FLC Financial Management Committee.
